Scotmid

A new digital home for one of Scotland's biggest retailers.

Scotmid

The Project

The Scotmid site was lacking interactivity and was failing to engage their customers. They approached The Zen Agency with a brief to create a new website that was to act as a portal built to inform Scotmids customers of the latest company news and detail the extensive work the organisation does throughout Scotland.

We were tasked with creating corporate and retail sites as well as a number of microsites, all to be managed via one content management system.

Zen launched an Umbraco-based corporate and retail portal for Scotmid, creating five sites which are all managed via the same CMS. The site was easy to update and offered a number of interactive functions including a Google Maps app, videos embedded from YouTube and a timeline detailing the company’s history. An extranet was also created which gave Scotmid members with shares in the business access to secure information.

The Results

The new website performed well with Zen reporting regular, monthly analytics to Scotmid. After the launch, the company's social media following dramatically increased with more users visiting the site via social networking sites and news feeds on a daily basis.

Princes Trust Zen worked with Prince's Trust designing two mobile apps as well as conducted UX interviews and testing with young people enrolled in the program.
