Lambay Whiskey is a brand shaped by place, process, and provenance. As their global audience expanded, the business needed a modern, scalable platform that could support both storytelling and sales. Zen delivered a new Umbraco-powered website designed to reflect Lambay’s unique character while meeting the needs of their growing digital presence.

Lambay Whiskey takes its name and character from Lambay Island, located just off the east coast of Ireland. Known for its small-batch Irish whiskeys matured in French cognac casks, the brand balances tradition with innovation.
Their previous website, built on WordPress, lacked the flexibility, security, performance, and brand clarity needed for their next phase of growth. The team at Lambay approached Zen to rebuild their digital home from the ground up, with a focus on design integrity, usability, and long-term scalability.
Following an in-depth discovery phase with key Lambay stakeholders, Zen developed a fully modular website using the Umbraco CMS. The solution was tailored to allow Lambay’s internal teams to create, manage, and evolve content independently, without compromising visual standards.
We built a system of reusable content components designed to match Lambay’s brand guidelines, enabling the creation of new pages quickly and consistently. The structure of the site was informed by a set of defined user personas, guiding the sitemap, user flows, and layout to support both discovery and conversion.
In addition to the main brand platform, Zen led the development and integration of Lambay’s e-commerce solution, which integrated into the main Umbraco platform. We implemented a custom connection between Umbraco and Shopify, combining brand storytelling with seamless product discovery and purchase functionality.
