The new and improved Bell Ingram website goes live!
In April of 2019, Bell Ingram commissioned The Zen Agency for the redevelopment of their corporate website. This week their new and improved website went live, ticking all the boxes for increased user functionality, dynamic architecture, intuitive design and more. Below is a breakdown the results of this exciting project.

Bell Ingram are one of the largest independent land agents in the UK. Established in 1899, they offer a number of specialist services in the rural land and property sector which include; Estate Management, Forestry, Architecture, Property Sales and Utilities Management. With over 100 professional staff working across 10 UK offices in Scotland and the North of England, people are at the heart of their business.
Bell Ingram’s reputation is built on their deep understanding of the rural sector and their ability to deliver effective solutions tailored to the needs of their clients. With that in mind, we knew their new website needed to be a comprehensive, intuitive experience, one that conveyed the full variety of services that they provide in line with the change of strategy and communications at Bell Ingram.
As such, we built an easy to use, interactive, informational hub that highlighted all of Bell Ingram’s key services. Our user centric approach aimed to drive users to the correct areas of the website while supporting and pushing forward the Bell Ingram brand.
The previous Bell Ingram website was launched several years ago on a WordPress content management system that was no longer fit for purpose. To tap into a more holistic approach, The Zen Agency moved their site onto the more robust, flexible and modern Umbraco CMS. This allowed for a better user interface and page layout for enhanced user experience and accessibility.
Considering the reported increase in mobile and tablet use from Bell Ingram’s customers, the new website also needed to be approached from a mobile-first perspective. Content hierarchy was considered from the outset to ensure accessibility, and that content would be presented in a meaningful and easily digestible way.
With the updated website Bell Ingram aimed to engage and connect with everyone that had a stake in what they do i.e. their customers, stakeholders and employees. Therefore, to ensure we met the requirement of more interactive user functionality, we created clear user flows for each user’s needs.
In the effort to increase the visibility of the organisation at a national level and improve the reputation of Bell Ingram brand, we made sure the website could support the user both locally and nationally. For that reason, our designs were executed in line with Bell Ingram’s strong brand essence of quality and reliability. All content took guidance from their brand values, reflecting the message that Bell Ingram are ‘people you want to do business with.’
The focus of this project lay in designing and developing a new website for Bell Ingram, which would make the management and updating of the site much easier. Our work successfully allowed the in-house team more control and flexibility, while effectively driving the brand forward towards a more B2B market area.
