The Zen Agency has too undergone transformational effects over the last 10 years in regards to digital strategy. This experience has equipped us with the ability to communicate, share and promote organisations in terms of their products and services, both in the public and private sector. Brewing a forward-thinking digital marketing strategy has been imperative to The Zen Agency’s success over the years. It’s no secret that the digital marketing landscape changes rapidly. We’ve witnessed and partaken in its evolution from digital to multichannel to now Omnichannel marketing. In 2020, there’s sure to be a new set of rules, which is why cracking your digital strategy now is crucial to staying relevant in the new decade.

You have heard it before, in digital marketing content is king. For 2020, it will continue to reign supreme, only now it’s got to be interactive. Driving engagement is all about being engaging, which is why the two V’s; video and visuals are the key to success in the New Year. Offer users a unique browsing experience and you will keep them interested for longer. Cut through the noise of static content with 360 videos, shoppable posts, quizzes, polls and infographics. Going forward, this will be the best way to drive brand awareness, support conversions and secure sales.

Voice Search

Voice search can no longer be ignored. Now accounting for over 20% of all Google search queries, optimising your content for voice search is the next necessary step for success. One trick to employ in 2020 is to make your copy more conversational, which is favourable to Google search algorithms. Replacing short keywords into long-tail keywords and phrasing copy as questions can also draw in more traffic.

Chat Bots

In 2020, we will see a rise in the use of chatbots. The market of automation has grown significantly in the past few years, with chatbots assuming greater closing capabilities and lifelike features. For consumers, immediacy is everything and a quick response can be the difference between a conversion and a lost lead. Chatbots help keep your leads warm, while you move on to other tasks. According to a recent study by Juniper Network, by 2023 chatbots are set to increase sales by £112 Billion, creating a saving of £439 Billion, so 2020 may be time to invest.

Augmented reality has slowly been gaining momentum over the last few years. Snapchat has already started experimenting with AR, in the form of its ‘Geofilter’ option which allows users to see location-specific videos, and there were the viral gender-swap and age-modifying lenses of 2019. However, in 2020 we will begin to see the practical application of VR/AR on social media. Apple and Facebook have already started production of their AR glasses, stating “VR is the next evolution of social messaging,” so expect to see an explosion of AR/VR content in the latter half of 2020.
