Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation

  • The Brief

Set up in 2006 as an industry organisation for Scottish salmon farming, SSPO encompasses 95% of the tonnage of Scottish salmon production and all members participate in the Code of Good Practice for Scottish Finfish Aquaculture. The organisation plays a central role in representing the industry on political, regulatory, media and technical issues in Scotland, the UK, EU and internationally. The main objective of the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation website project was to create an engaging and informative web presence with an intuitive way of presenting, structuring and organising content so that all types of users could access information easily.

  • The Solution

    • The Zen team designed a website that is essentially a comprehensive information portal, including a new content management system is dynamic and data-base driven, flexible, adaptable and durable so that the website is able to function efficiently as a core communication platform for SSPO and could also be added to at a later stage to include new pages, sections and even sub-sites. We also took into consideration what social media tools, if any would work best for SSPO and built the website accordingly.

  • The Results

The new website increased Scottish Salmons online presence and provided the company with a stunning website which allows users to learn about the salmon farming industry while viewing striking photography.

  • The Reaction

"The team at Zen immediately understood our strategic communications needs for the website and was able to interpret those into a clean contemporary design, backed up with a robust CMS which will allow us to develop the site in future. We had a vision for how we wanted a website to deliver communications and Zen had the expertise to understand that and make it happen."
