Set up in 2006 as an industry organisation for Scottish salmon farming, SSPO encompasses 95% of the tonnage of Scottish salmon production and all members participate in the Code of Good Practice for Scottish Finfish Aquaculture.

The organisation plays a central role in representing the industry on political, regulatory, media and technical issues in Scotland, the UK, EU and internationally. The main objective of the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation website project was to create an engaging and informative web presence with an intuitive way of presenting, structuring and organising content so that all types of users could access information easily.

The Zen team designed a website that is essentially a comprehensive information portal, including a new content management system that was dynamic and data-base driven, flexible, adaptable and durable.

The website was able to function efficiently as a core communication platform for SSPO and could also be added to at a later stage to include new pages, sections and even sub-sites. We also took into consideration what social media tools, if any would work best for SSPO and built the website accordingly.

The new website increased Scottish Salmons online presence and provided the company with a stunning website which allowed users to learn about the salmon farming industry while viewing striking photography.
